Over a year ago, I bought the Extended Editions of The Lord of the Rings. I had seen the original versions in the theatre, so I picked up the Extended Editions for around $15 a piece.
Molly and I watched The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers over a year ago. With the new house and the wedding, we hadn’t had a chance to watch The Return of the King. Last night we decided we’d invest the four hours and finish up the series. I opened up the DVD and looked at the four discs inside:
- The Appendices Part Five: The War of the Ring
- Part Two
- The Appendices Part Five: The War of the Ring
- The Appendices Part Six: The Passing of an Age
If you didn’t notice, it’s missing Part One of the movie. Part One! I had always argued that The Return of the King was too long, but that doesn’t mean I wanted to be missing half of the movie (especially the first half).
I guess I can try to email New Line and see if they’ll send me Part One of The Return of the King. I doubt that will work.
